Beware The Hazards Of Modern Day Living

Living in today’s world may seem easy and convenient. But the truth is that hidden in the easy way in which we travel, live, and work are many dangers that can threaten to shorten our life if we aren’t careful. The paradox is that the very inventions that make our lives easier may be doing us more harm than good in some cases.
Of course, everybody loves a pizza and a six pack of their favorite beer every once in a while, but most of the time, we’ve got to focus on eating healthy. That means minimal amounts of processed carbohydrates, sugars and modern plant oils. Fibrous carbs, such as vegetables and beans, and olive oil are much better.
Another by product of modern society is a woeful lack of exercise. Many of us sit around at computers all day long, and only stretch our muscles when we reach up in the cabinet at work when we’re making more coffee. To get into better health, doing some simple exercise like walking can act like magic on an under exercised body.
One of the biggest killers of creativity today is TV. TV can be an amazing resource, and bring you timely information from around the world, but it can also sap you of any creative and constructive thought if you mindlessly watch hours of TV every day. Consider reading a book instead, or better yet, take a stroll down to your public library and see what they have to offer.
Also, the water we drink is sometimes filled with chemicals that we don’t even know about. Many of these chemicals are of course put there to keep us healthy, and disease free, but they may be having unintended consequences, such as lower sperm count in men. In order to fight off the evils of tap water, consider drinking bottles water instead.
While living in modern society is much easier than back in the day when we had to chase after our food every day, it can lull us into a false sense of security. By focusing on the ideas in this article, and making a few easy lifestyle changes, you won’t succumb to the evils of modern day living.
