Tinnitus is not deadly symptom and it more of an inconvenience than anything else. In most cases people are accustomed to the sound and it really does not affect their daily lives. However, there are others who find it a big relief after eliminating their tinnitus.

What Causes Tinnitus to arise?

People of the years end up damaging nerves in the inner ear (cochleas) which results in this symptom. The human nerves in the inner ear transmit electrical impulses to the brain in which the brain then interprets as sounds. This is the basic functioning of how we hear the external world around us. When these nerves are damaged, the signal becomes distorted. At some point along the way, the distorted signal gets to the brain and it basically interprets these as noise of one form or another. We call this noise, Tinnitus.

We can understand why the elderly people are afflicted with this symptom, and this is basically due to old age and the bodies inability to repair itself, this over time the body parts stop functioning 100% and as a result loose some of the functionality. A lot of things change when we age. Most of the dysfunctional parts are due to improper dieting. However, younger people are also getting this symptom and it is not a result of old age. Medical tests reveal a connection to high levels of sound exposure for those young who develop these symptoms.

Other findings that connect to Tinnitus include Anemia. Anemia includes when the blood rushes around the body so quickly that it can cause sound to be heard from within the body in and around the brain. Other medical factors can be caused by excessive wax in the ear. Furthermore, Menieres Disease which is a condition affecting balance can also give rise to Tinnitus. In the modern era, recreational drugs could also cause Tinnitus as the body fights to eliminate them.

On the other hand when Tinnitus is related to the patients level of stress then it can be tackled by simply managing ones own stress with the use of sedatives, tranquilizers or anti-depressants. Although it is not a total solution, relieving one from the tinnitus in this way can be fast comforting temporary solution. Other ways involve the use of drugs that your doctor can prescribe which work to alter electrical impulses in the affected nerves to stop the transmission of pulses back to the brain.
