What is a Wart?
If you don’t have them, you may wonder what is a wart. Well, there are four different types of wart; plantar, genital, flat and common. A wart will usually have some resemblance to a cauliflower or a blister and will differ in colour to your skin. They are small and rough and are most often found on the hands and feet but can occur elsewhere. They are generally not cancerous but can on occasion itch or burn. Most types of wart are caused by the human papilloma virus or HPV, and is contagious.
Plantar warts are often found on the bottom of the feet and are flat because of their location. However, because of their location, much of the wart grows on the inside the foot.
Flat warts are the smallest and smoothest and usually grow on the knees, hands and arms. Flat warts are the smallest of the various types of wart and are normally lighter than the normal skin colour.
Genital warts are basically a sexually transmitted disease (STD). They can be anywhere in the genital area and inside the rectum or the reproductive organs. This type of wart is the most common (STD).
You will most often find common warts on, or around the hands, especially in areas where the skin has been broken by hangnails or broken nails.
There are various ways to remove warts and these may involve electrosurgery, laser therapy, cryosurgery and by home Treatments.
Electrosurgery uses an electric current to burn them out while laser therapy utilizes a light beam to destroy the wart. Cryosurgery will freeze the wart so that it dies. These types of techniques may require the use of local anesthesia and more than one Treatment. There is frequently some minor discomfort following the Treatment. Please note though, that not all these Treatments will be adequate for all the different types of warts.
It may not be necessary to use the above methods as simple over the counter medications and home Treatments are often easier and just as successful. Of course home remedies do not require anesthesia, and can also be performed when, and where you feel the most comfortable.

Modern medicine offers some wonderfully harsh methods to eliminate unwanted skin tag growths; procedures that involve burning or freezing that are acutely painful and will potentially leave you scarred. Many doctors offer these solutions because their training does not involve herbal remedies, and they are simply unaware of the power of botanical extracts.
Thuja Occidentalis has been used safely and effectively for the elimination of skin tags since the 19th Century. Sourced from the White Cedar tree, Thuja's Latin name "Arbor vitae", means "tree of life" due to the healing properties of its sap, bark and twigs. Use it externally, and you can watch skin tags dry up and fall off from the convenience of your home.
