My Low Carb Diet-First Day

Today is January 2nd and I have started my low carb diet yesterday. My son who is 22 and is in great shape has been telling me for a while that I should try a low carb diet. My wife has started a low carb diet a few months ago and was losing weight when she stayed on it. I kept saying no and I am in decent shape, if I need to lose a few pounds I usually just eat a little less and try to work out a little more.
I am getting older (48) and it is not as easy as it used to be. During the holidays I ate like a pig, like I always do and went from 218 pound before Thanksgiving to 228 pounds on January 1st. So now I need to try something new, so here I go on a new journey.
In these blogs I am going to share with you my personal experience with trying this low carb diet, they recommended that I try to stay under 50 carbs per day and use a supplement. So yesterday was my first day and it was a little rough, but I am finding foods that I like with either low carbs or no carbs. Quite a bit of meats have no carbs in them and I love to eat meat.
I identified an app on my telephone called calorie count, however it also counts your carbs. You just put in the item that you simply are consuming and it tells you each of the information, you’ll be able to also speak into it or scan an item it is seriously cool. Yesterday my wife and I went on a 2 mile walk and I ate 2582 calories, 15g carbs and 182g of fat. I usually believed that if I ate much less fat, then I would slim down, but yesterday I ate a whole lot of fat and lost weight. I lost two pounds and now at 226.
Now 228 is likely the highest I have ever weighed, so I figured today’s weigh-in could be excellent. So I’ll take that figure with a grain of salt (I must check to view how many carbs are in salt ha-ha). I know that the very first ten pounds really should most likely come of off pretty quick since I was just there a month and also a half ago. But it is never ever simple to slim down, it seems like it is actually substantially much easier for me to put on the pounds. I like my bread, chocolate and Chai tea and I’ll be giving them all up simultaneously.
I am also starting the P90X workout program today, so I will have diet and exercise working for me. I hope to be looking good in 90 days. I am not proud of how I look now, but here are my stats going into this:
6 foot 4 inches, 228 pounds, Waist 40″ and Biceps 14.5″.
For 90 days Biceps 16″, 205 pounds, waist 36″.
